In the spirit of combining the worlds of gear, creative expression, and community, She Shreds hosted its first ever Gear Swap at Junior High in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Our mission was simple: create an environment in which competition, and virtuosity did not deter someone from experimenting with gear and inspiration came from the community we were immediately surrounded by.

From the very beginning, our “gear station moms” helped people identify tones, and expressions from the various instruments provided by EarthQuaker, Catalinbread, Ernie Ball, Vox Amps, Fender, Sinasoid, and Sterling. Special performances by Gemma Castro, Samira Winter of Winter and Clementine Creevy of Cherry Glazerr were amazing and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better event kick off.

Someone mentioned this being “like NAMM if it was a cool hip young girl” and we can’t disagree. Stay tuned for a gear swap coming to a city near you in 2018!
