April 20 is more than an unofficial weed holiday for White Mystery. It’s also the band’s birthday. Siblings Alex and Francis White formed their high-octane rock ‘n’ roll duo in 2008, and have planned their self-issued releases around their anniversary ever since. This year’s 4/20 marks the arrival of the band’s fourth album, Outta Control.

Guitarist and vocalist Alex White says the album’s chaotic name might be a tad misleading. “While this album is called Outta Control, it is probably the most controlled sounding, grooving White Mystery music to date,” she adds.

To celebrate the big announcement and the band’s appearance last night on Last Call With Carson Daly, She Shreds presents the world premiere of album cut “Best Friend.” The psychedelic clap-along acknowledges the deep emotional bond that fuels the White’s raucous live energy. “The new White Mystery song “Best Friend” echoes what Francis and I say to each other on a daily basis—‘You are my best friend,’” Alex says.
