No Music for Ice: Musicians Sign Open Letter to Boycott Amazon
Deerhoof, Speedy Ortiz, Adia Victoria and more sign No Music for Ice open letter to boycott all Amazon events until the company stops working with ICE.
Since being posted on Thursday, hundreds of musicians have signed No Music for Ice, a boycott of Amazon and it’s events and festivals due to the companies contract with Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE). The boycott will continue until the company meets four demands:
- Terminate existing contracts with military, law enforcement, and government agencies (ICE, CBP, ORR) that commit human rights abuses
- Stop providing Cloud services & tools to organizations (such as Palantir) that power the US government’s deportation machine
- End projects that encourage racial profiling and discrimination, such as Amazon’s facial recognition product
- Reject future engagements w/ aforementioned bad actors.
“We will not allow Amazon to exploit our creativity to promote its brand while it enables attacks on immigrants, communities of color, workers, and local economies. We call on all artists who believe in basic rights and human dignity to join us.”
No Music for Ice
The No Music for Ice letter follows the announcement of Amazon’s first music festival, Intersect. After learning about Amazon’s connection to the festival, the DJ The Black Madonna pulled out of Intersect, claiming that there was no mention of the company in her contract.
Shout out to the artists and activists that created the letter and boycott, including Sadie Dupuis (Speedy Ortiz, Sad13), Joey La Neve DeFrancesco (Downtown Boys), Evan Greer, Stevie Knipe (Adult Mom), Carmen Perry (Remember Sports), Jes Skolnik, and others.
She Shreds stands with No Music for Ice and strongly encourages musicians who believe in our mission to sign the open letter, speak out, and continue to be outraged.

I wouldn’t support any of the people (these supposed artist). Any other country on this Earth doesn’t allow people to just walk into their country. Shut up and go fuck yourselves.. I made sure I have a list of artists I won’t SUPPORT EVER. Grow up and quit trying to fuck the rest of us who don’t want ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
